Factoid
It was the biggest play of the Super Bowl, a potential 14-point swing when the Cardinals were on their way in for a touchdown -- only to see the ball intercepted by James Harrison and run back the other way for a Steelers score.
Such momentum-swinging plays also happen in kicking situations; punts and field goals that are blocked and run back the other way for defensive touchdowns. If it seemed like such plays happened more often than normal last season, they did.
In 2008, blocked field goals and blocked punts were brought back for touchdowns 10 times. That's more than double the frequency of such plays at any point since 2001; you have to go back 20 years, in fact, to find another season where it happened that often.
