Mason angling for contract extension
Posted Mar. 08 at 09:50 AM
Add Derrick Mason to the list of receivers who aren't happy with their contracts. Mason is entering the final year of his deal, and he'd like to get an extension for more financial security.
Mason made the comments on the set of NFL Total Access.
"I don't know where this thing is going to end, but I think I've earned the right by what I've done on the field -- and off the field -- for the last four years with the Ravens."
Mason is 35 years old. He led Baltimore last year with 80 catches, 1,037 yards and 5 TD receptions.
With another 60 catches this year, he can become just the four player ever with 10 straight seasons of 60-plus receptions.
Most consecutive years with 60+ receptions
11 Jerry Rice
10 Tim Brown
10 Tony Gonzalez (current streak)
9 Rod Smith
9 Cris Carter
9 Derrick Mason (current streak)
