Kansas City signed Bobby Engram to add depth to their receiving corps. Engram is 36, but he’s still a viable slot receiver – a guy who can come in and convert on third downs.
Do not, however, look for Engram to score a lot of touchdowns. He doesn’t have the speed to get deep on defenses, and he’s not big enough to feature on fade routes in the red zone.
Over the past four years, only 10 of the 232 passes Engram has caught have resulted in touchdowns. That’s 2nd-worst among the 33 wide receivers who’ve caught at least 200 passes in that time period. The complete list appears below.
