Around the NFL
The NFC North just got a lot more interesting.
Jay Cutler goes to the Bears for a pair of first-round picks, plus a third-round choice. The deal also includes Denver sending its fifth-round pick to the Bears, while receiving Chicago's third-round pick.
Wow.
The Bears have a solid defense. They have Matt Forte at tailback. This trade could help elevate them ahead of Green Bay and Minnesota in this division.
Meanwhile, the AFC West is looking like maybe the league's worst division. Kansas City and Oakland are terrible. San Diego is on the decline and went only 8-8 last year, and the Broncos appear to be slipping. If the NFC West isn't the league's worst division, then the AFC West is.
According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Broncos will receive Chicago's first-round picks in 2009 (18th overall) and 2010, as well as Orton and the Bears' third-round pick this year. Chicago will get Cutler and Denver's fifth-round pick this year.
