Factoid
Tony Scheffler (the Broncos tight end who may be traded before opening day) averaged an impressive 16.1 yards per catch last year. That’s an extremely high number for a tight end.
Poking around with the numbers, I notice that Scheffler’s 16.1 comes in as the 2nd-highest for any tight end in the last 10 years (among guys who caught at least 30 passes).
A number of other tight ends also did a good job of getting downfield last year – Zach Miller, David Martin, Visanthe Shiancoe and Anthony Fasano.
