To me, the biggest surprise of the first round was Denver selecting Knowshon Moreno.
Not that Moreno isn't a capable running back and worthy of being selected somewhere in that range, but the Broncos have huge holes on defense -- I thought essentially all of their picks would go to addressing that area.
And the Broncos aren't exactly void of talent at running back. They've got Selvin Young and Peyton Hillis coming back. They've signed Correll Buckhalter, LaMont Jordan and J.J. Arrington. And Josh McDaniels has comes from New England, where that position has never been considered that valuable.
The Moreno pick, more than any other, surprised me.

Not to mention that they signed/didn't sign/signed Arrington. Now he'll be lucky if he's not unsigned again. Besides Moreno, who do you think makes the team? Maybe the surprise us all and bring Ron Dayne in for another look...

I expect Arrington will return kicks and play on third downs. Moreno should be their main runner, but at least one other guy will be mixed in -- probably Buckhalter, but maybe Selvin Young or LaMont Jordan. I don't think Torain will make the team. There was a lot of talk about him last year, but Torain didn't look like anything special to me when he played against Cleveland. He's just a lesser guy that Shanahan thought might be good. I don't expect Torain to even make it to the final cuts.
