Around the NFL
If Thomas Jones (who wants a new contract) is worried about the Jets selecting Shonn Greene with the first pick of the third round, it's not showing yet.
Jones isn't participating in the team's offseason workouts, according to beat writer Rich Cimini of The Daily News.
Jones wants the Jets to re-work his deal. I don't think that will happen. The team will be fine, I think, with Leon Washington and Greene sharing time at that position.
I envision Jones either being traded or quietly coming back to the team without a new deal. He'll be 31 on opening day; I don't think the Jets are going to give him more money. (Washington also wants a new contract, and I think he's higher on the priority list).
