Fanex draft is underway

Posted May. 15 at 02:19 PM

The Fanex Analysis Draft is underway, and for the second year in a row, I will not be making a first-round pick.

I have traded away choice 1.11, as well as a picks in the 10th and 20th rounds, for picks 2.11, 5.02 and 9.02.

So basically, I’ve given up a round of premium draft position in exchange for an extra pick in the 5th round.

I was hoping Larry Fitzgerald might make it to 2.02 – he’s the guy I would have selected at 1.11 – but no luck. He was just chosen.

Always nerve-racking making these kind of deals, but my overall board tells me it’s worth it. There will be good players there in the 5th. Pick 5.02, that’s about exactly where I took Matt Forte last year. And I selected Jamal Lewis around that spot the previous year. Both of those guys helped me win this league.

Draft so far.

  1.01  Adrian Peterson (Dolfi)
  1.02  Michael Turner (Cannon)
  1.03  Maurice Jones-Drew (Pitzer)
  1.04  LaDainian Tomlinson (Kellogg)
  1.05  Matt Forte (Davis)
  1.06  Steven Jackson (Cahill)
  1.07  Chris Johnson (Holm)
  1.08  Frank Gore (Hulett)
  1.09  DeAngelo Williams (O’Leary)
  1.10  Brian Westbrook (Rito)
  1.11  Larry Fitzgerald (Cannon)

Draft can be followed at …

Surprised that Tomlinson still goes that high. Maybe he's a reverse sleeper. People think he's done, but could still have something left. I see that you use MyFantasyleague. I think that's an excellent fantasy site and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like cbssportsline.

I like the myfantasyleague.com product. I've used it for years. It has always bugged me, however, that Tomlinson's first name reads "Ladainian" on their site. Every year. I finally sent in an e-mail yesterday to complain, and I got the following responses: "Thanks for the heads up. This happens because nobody has pointed it out until now ;) It should be corrected on Saturday!" Guess I should have mentioned it sooner.
