Around the NFL
Devin Hester was a disappointment last season. He caught 51 passes, but he scored only 3 TDs. He made more big plays in 2007 when he was a reserve, catching 2 TDs and scoring another 6 TDs on returns.
But the Bears aren't thinking about trying to jumpstart Hester's effectiveness on kick returns by moving him back in a part-time role. Lovie Smith says Hester looks great and should have a big season.
"He's a legitimate No. 1 receiver, and we'll all see that this coming season," said Smith in an article in today's Chicago Tribune. "I like the progress he's made throughout."
