NFC West = NFC Worst

Posted Jun. 20 at 10:41 PM

They don’t call it the “NFC Worst” for nothing.

Five years in a row, the NFC West has finished at least six games below .500. So it tends to be a nice advantage when a division gets to play four games against the struggling teams in that division. (That possible advantage goes to the teams in the NFC North and AFC South this season).

DIVISION RECORDS, 2002-2008
Composite division records since the NFL went to its 32-team format in 2002. Included are only games played outside the division (each team went 12-12 each year when playing against itself).
