John Clayton is reporting that the Bears almost certainly won't sign Plaxico Burress.
With Roger Goodell making it known that a suspension for 2009 is still very much in play and Burress looking for big money, Chicago doesn't seem to be seriously interested. At least according to Clayton's ESPN report.
The Bears, however, are in dire need of a big-time wide receiver, and they added Jay Cutler in the offseason. They need somebody for him to throw to. If not Burress -- and maybe they'll jump back into the picture for him if his pricetag comes down -- then maybe they'll make a move for Brandon Marshall, the talented but trouble receiver who wants out of Denver.
