Atlanta coach Mike Smith says he would like for Michael Turner to carry the ball less often this year.
An article in today's edition of the Atlanta Journal Constitution points out that Turner last year in 17 games (including the playoff loss at Atlanta) carried the ball 394 times for 1,741 yards and 17 TDs.
“We know that he can’t sustain 370 carries over a number of years,” Smith said. “We definitely know that we have to reduce the load that we put on him this year.”
Sounds like Jerious Norwood is going to get a few more touches.
