It takes some doing to make a Brett Favre retirement decision seem enduring, but Derrick Mason has achieved it. Mason is reportedly ending his retirement after less than three weeks.
According to ESPN's John Clayton, Mason showed up to Ravens training camp today, met with coach John Harbaugh, and will end his brief retirement. It's been speculated that Mason's retirement was from a desire to get a new contract; of course, another possibility is that his decision was influenced by being shaken by the death of close friend Steve McNair.
In any case, Mason immediately reclaims the top spot on the Ravens' receiver depth chart, and his presence reduces the need of the Ravens to trade for somebody like Brandon Marshall or Anquan Boldin.
Clayton's story can be seen right here.
