Around the NFL
NFL policies dictate that teams must make their injury designations (probable, questionable, doubtful, out) two days before their game. So most teams release those on Friday. But the four teams playing on Monday night didn't announce that information until today.
Highlights are as follows.
Wes Welker (knee) is questionable. Welker participated in some (but not all) of every Patriots practice this week. He's expected to play.
Sammy Morris (finger) is probable. He's fine. Could be an underrated running back this week against his former team, the Bills.
Justin Fargas (hamstring) is questionable. He didn't practice Thursday. I'm not sure about Friday or Saturday, but I expect him to play little (if at all). Darren McFadden definitely will start, and the Raiders also have Michael Bush to work with.
Chaz Schilens and Javon Walker definitely will sit out. The Raiders will start two rookies (Louis Murphy and Darrius Heyward-Bey) at wide receiver.
No significant injuries for the Chargers or Bills.
