Around the NFL
James Davis looked pretty good in the preseason. Faster and more elusive than Jamal Lewis, he looked like he might move into the starting lineup in the second half of the season for the Browns.
But it won't happen this year.
Davis injured his shoulder in the first game of the season, and the Browns placed him on injured reserve today.
Fantasy-wise, this cements Jerome Harrison as a full-time player tomorrow (Lewis is out with a hamstring injury). And Harrison, as a running and receiving threat, could be surprisingly productive against the Bengals.
To replace Davis on the roster, the Browns activated Chris Jennings from their practice squad.
