Around the NFL
The Patriots could be positioning themselves to make a big move before the trade deadline that is 4 hours away.
In the last day, the Patriots have cut four players, including wide receiver Joey Galloway.
Fresh off a big win that re-establishes them as a Super Bowl contender, the Patriots could be looking to add a piece that puts them over the top.
They could be interested in a pass rusher.
Or they could be looking for a running back. Fred Taylor underwent ankle surgery that could keep him out all year, and Sammy Morris left Sunday's game with a knee injury.
If the Patriots are trying to add a running back, it could be somebody from the state of Missouri. Kansas City would probably love to move Larry Johnson. And Steven Jackson of the Rams would really help the New England offense.
We'll all see soon enough.

Maybe they thought they were being nice to players like Galloway by not making them fly overseas just to watch a football game.
