Factoid
Jacksonville fullback Greg Jones scored two short touchdowns Sunday, leaving Maurice Jones-Drew owners across the fantasy world to wonder if MJD is in danger of losing out on the goal-line carries. Based on Jones-Drew’s recent performance in those situations, however, the Jaguars have little reason to make a change.
This season, Jones-Drew has gotten 18 rushing opportunities when the team needed 1 or 2 yards to either pick up a first down or score a touchdown, and converted 10 of them. That’s nothing special, but consider: After failing on six of eight attempts the first three weeks of the season, Jones-Drew’s been money lately, converting eight of his last 10. Against the Titans’ top-ranked run defense Sunday (albeit without tackle Albert Haynesworth), he was a perfect 4 for 4.
Jones-Drew's performance in those situations this season is presented below; successful conversions in italics.
