Around the NFL
Calvin Johnson isn't 100 percent (because of a knee injury), but there's a chance he'll play.
"He can play without practicing," said coach Jim Schwartz in an article in the Detroit Free Press. "He's been in all the meetings. He's been in all the walk-throughs. He's been out here paying attention and doing those kind of things."
NFL insiders John Clayton and Adam Schefter are both reporting that they expect Johnson will probably play.
Johnson is definitely less than 100 percent, but he'd be worth consideration against a shaky St. Louis defense. The Detroit Free Press article says that Johnson did less in practice on Friday than on Thursday.
"We're just trying to not overwork it, you know?" Johnson said. "I don't want to mess it up even more than it is."
Those with Johnson on the rosters -- or considering replacement Dennis Northcutt -- are advised to check the game-day inactives on Sunday before proceeding.
