Factoid
As I’m playing around with the numbers, I notice that the Jets are in position to finish with the 2nd-fewest touchdowns ever allowed in a 16-game season. They’ve allowed only eight so far, and their final game is at home against Cincinnati, which might hold out a bunch of its front-line players.
The Jets have benefited from scheduling, of course. The Colts pulled Peyton Manning in the third quarter yesterday, and the Bengals might hold out Carson Palmer this week. That’s a big break, getting to instead face Curtis Painter and J.T. O’Sullivan.
But it’s impressive nonetheless. The Jets saw Tom Brady twice, and they also played against Matt Schaub and Drew Brees.
