Two-Point Drought

Posted Dec. 03 at 06:25 AM

If the two-point conversions you saw Sunday afternoon looked unfamiliar, it’s because they haven’t happened much lately. Those three were the first attempts made during the past three weeks. Why aren’t there more two-point conversions in the NFL? For one thing, most teams aren’t very good at it.

Through week 13, eight teams haven’t attempted a two-point conversion, and ten of the teams who have are a combined 0 for 11. The remaining 14 teams might want to consider going for two more often: They’re a combined 19 for 25. The best teams? Cleveland, Houston, New Orleans and Washington are, collectively, 9 for 12. The results thus far:

Arizona: 0 for 1
Atlanta: 0 for 1
Buffalo: 1 for 1
Carolina: 0 for 1
Cincinnati: 1 for 2
Cleveland: 2 for 3
Dallas: 0 for 1
Denver: 0 for 1
Detroit: 0 for 1
Houston: 2 for 2
Indianapolis: 1 for 2
Jacksonville: 1 for 1
Kansas City: 1 for 2
Miami: 1 for 1
New Orleans: 3 for 4
N.Y. Giants: 0 for 1
N.Y. Jets: 1 for 1
Oakland: 1 for 1
Philadelphia: 0 for 2
Pittsburgh: 1 for 1
San Francisco: 0 for 1
St. Louis: 1 for 1
Tampa Bay: 0 for 1
Washington: 2 for 3
