Order for the 2010 NFL draft

Posted Feb. 15 at 08:30 PM

Below is the selection order for the first round of NFL draft in April. (At least what we’ve got so far – there are a few ties that will be broken by coin clips).

Ties are broken in some areas, but the tie-breaking process is far different than for the playoffs. It's done strictly by strength of schedule. In the three-way log-jam between 5-11 teams, for example, Cleveland beat the Raiders. But the Browns are still picking before Oakland because they had an easier schedule. For draft order, the league gives no weight to head-to-head results, conference records or any of that stuff. If it's a tie after strength of schedule, they move directly to the coin flip (and those coin flips occur at owner’s meetings when the teams and league are all in the same place).
