Around the NFL
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle is one of the most respectable football writers. And he writes today that he'll be shocked if the Texans have any interest in recently released LaDainian Tomlinson.
"Two weeks ago, owner Bob McNair said the Texans look at free agents who are on their way up," McClain writes in his blog today. "That rules out Tomlinson."

I haven't seen anything to this effect, but since I don't see any contending team -- a desire of Tomlinson's -- signing him to be a starter, I wonder if he'll end up joining a team that already has an established starter, but needs a complementary back. So how about the Vikings, who are expected to lose Chester Taylor, or the Steelers? I don't think Tomlinson has much left, but if he really wants to play for a contender, he could help some team out as a part-time and 3rd-down type of back. And he might not get a better option.
