The announcements, just one day apart, of the releases of LaDainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook serve as a reminder of how quickly things can change in the NFL. Neither player had a good season in 2009, resulting in them being kicked to the curb in 2010.
In a 5-year period from 2004 -- the year Westbrook became a starter in Philadelphia -- through 2008, however, the two backs held a unique place in the NFL. During that span, they were the only two running backs to catch at least 50 passes in every season.
