Factoid
I'm working on some goal-line stuff today. Figuring out who got the ball the most around the end zone, and who did the most (and least) with those opportunities.
Two running backs who struggled inside the 10: Steven Jackson and Clinton Portis.
Portis carried the ball 10 times inside the 10. Those carries resulted in 5 total yards.
Jackson also finished with fewer yards than attempts in that part of the field: 18 carries for only 15 yards, with 3 TDs.
There's no arguing that LaDainian Tomlinson has tailed off the last two years, but it wasn't for a small workload. He carried the ball 38 times inside the 10 last year, the 2nd-highest total in the league.
