Congratulations to Scott Endsley of Fantasy Draft Edge: Champion of the Fantasy Index mock auction league
Posted Dec. 27 at 02:52 AM
The 2007 edition of Fantasy Football Index included a mock auction conducted by publishers of fantasy sports analysis products. Each team had a salary cap of $200 (of imaginary money).
The experts' teams competed during the season in a hands-off, best-ball format. Waiver moves were not allowed, and starting lineups weren't submitted. We simply took each team's highest-scoring players that week, and used them as the team's starters. Teams played 11 gtames every week (one game against every other team in the league).
At the season's end, Endsley had both the best overall record (131-45-0) and the highest points total (2002.2). Keeping in mind that this was an auction-format league, his best players were Tom Brady (436.2 points, $21), Matt Hasselbeck (307.4, $11), Brian Westbrook (272.5, $47), Marion Marber (197.4, $17), Anquan Boldin (129.1, $15) and Kellen Winslow (135.4, $9). Endsley's team actually clinched the league championship in Week 15.

Beyond that, Gleesing assembled an incredible cast of role players: his QB position was a three-headed monster of Jason Campbell, Damon Huard and Josh McCown.
Scott Pianowki finished third. His stars were Ben Roethlisberger (319.0, $6), LaDainian Tomlinson (295.4, $75), Marques Colston (164.8, $19) and Dallas Clark (130.0, $4).
