Jackson, Celek should be OK with Kolb

Posted Mar. 25 at 12:36 AM

It sounds like Donovan McNabb will be traded any day now, elevating Kevin Kolb into Philadelphia's starting lineup. Is that bad news for the team's young receivers? Probably not.

Based on an admittedly limited sample set, the Eagles' leading receivers a year ago, DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek, should be fine with Kolb under center. The per-game numbers for each player in McNabb's 14 starts last season, compared to Kolb's two starts, are presented below.

McNabb at QB (14 starts)

Rec    Yds    TDs
4        70      .54   Jackson
4        55      .50   Celek

100-yard games
Jackson: 3
Celek: 1

Kolb at QB (2 starts)

Rec    Yds    TD
5        125     1.0   Jackson
8        104     .50   Celek

100-yard games
Jackson: 2
Celek: 2
