When Jason Taylor was a free agent last season, he all but ruled out ever playing for a hated Dolphins rival like the Jets. Didn't Taylor learn anything from Sean Connery? You should never say never.
According to the Newark Star-Ledger, there's a strong possibility that the standout Miami pass rusher will sign with the Jets. Rex Ryan wants him to fill the outside linebacker spot opposite Calvin Pace in the team's 3-4 defense, and what Ryan has wanted over the past two offseasons (Bart Scott, Mark Sanchez), the Jets have got.
We anticipate being high on the Jets defense this year regardless, but Taylor, even though his best years are behind him, would likely help the team's pass rush. The team has no doubt given up on former top pick Vernon Gholston, who has made zero impact in his first two seasons.
