Giant Killer

Posted Dec. 30 at 05:47 PM

The four first-round playoff games are tough to handicap -- all look like they could go either way. Giants fans have to be worried about one trend, however: their history against Bucs quarterback Jeff Garcia. He's 4-1 against them over his career, but most significantly, he's quarterbacked franchises (49ers, Eagles) that have knocked them out of the playoffs in two of the last five postseasons.

Garcia's numbers in those five games (Completions-Attempts, Yards, TDs-INTs), and results, are presented below.

2006 (postseason): 17-31, 153, 1-0 (Eagles 23, Giants 20)
2006: 19-28, 237, 1-0 (Eagles 36, Giants 22)
2004: 21-31, 180, 1-1 (Giants 27, Browns 10)
2002 (postseason): 27-44, 331, 3-1 (49ers 39, Giants 38)
2002: 16-26, 166, 1-1 (49ers 16, Giants 13)
