Around the NFL
I just heard Rams GM Billy Devaney on the radio. He says he expects the Rams will trade the 33rd pick. They're supposedly getting a lot of offers.
I think quarterbacks will go pretty quickly. Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy are out there, and they'll interest teams. Carolina, Buffalo, Oakland and Cleveland are possibilities. The Vikings are sitting at 34; theycould be interested in adding a young arm, but that would depend on how much they like Tarvaris Jackson.
Devaney also shared an interesting story about Ryan Leaf. Devaney was with San Diego when they picked Leaf in 1998. He said he started to sense that pick might not work out when it was time to arrange for Leaf to fly out to the city. Leaf wanted to delay the trip by a day so he could attend a friend's bachelor party in Las Vegas.

I've been figuring that if the Vikings had really wanted one of those quarterbacks they wouldn't have traded back four spots; they would have picked the guy at 30. Granted none of the next three teams would take a QB, but they had to know there'd be teams interested in trading up into one of those spots, particularly the Rams' first pick of Day 2 (since it happens every year). I think they'll take a cornerback or safety with that pick. I'm starting to think nobody likes Clausen or McCoy very much.
