Factoid
Running backs taken in the 7th round, or undrafted ones, seldom amount to anything in the NFL. Players like the undrafted Priest Holmes are the exception, not the rule.
With that said, a handful of running backs that fit those criteria in 2007 showed potential as rookies, and some could make an impact in 2008 and/or down the road. Not including Green Bay's Ryan Grant (who joined the Giants as an undrafted free agent back in 2005), the promising rookie numbers of four other runners who were either 7th-rounders or undrafted in 2007 are presented below. (Includes only games with 10-plus carries.) Bradshaw, Young and Thomas all had their best games occur during the last four weeks of the season.
DeShawn Wynn, G.B. (7th) - 4 games, 46-185 (4.0 ypc), 4 TDs
Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG (7th) - 1 game, 17-151 (8.9 ypc), 1 TD
Selvin Young, Den. (UDFA) - 6 games, 101-516 (5.1 ypc), 1 TD
Pierre Thomas, N.O. (UDFA) - 2 games, 32-137 (4.3 ypc), 1 TD
