Cleveland / running the ball

Posted Jul. 07 at 08:44 AM

A team that runs the ball more than you think? The Browns.

Cleveland ran the ball on 51 percent of its plays last year, 3rd-most in the league behind the more well known Jets and Panthers.

Part of this, of course, can be attributed to the Browns not having a passing game. They ranked last in both passing yards and passing touchdowns last year (just like 2008).

But the Browns ran the ball often last year, and they ran it surprisingly well during the second half of last season.
