Around the NFL
It's official: in February of 2014, we'll get a cold-weather Super Bowl. The Giants and Jets' new stadium, which opens this fall, will host the league's Championship game that season, Super Bowl XLVIII.
It was just announced by Commissioner Roger Goodell, on NFL Network. This has relatively little fantasy impact, but it's nice for those of us who live in the area -- and have been intrigued by the possibility of a Super Bowl dramatically influenced by the elements.
Some owners resisted the idea; the New York/New Jersey bid did not get 75 percent of the vote. It did, however, get at least 17 votes, or a simple majority.
