Vincent Jackson / getting downfield

The article in the Union-Tribune briefly mentioned Jackson’s ability to get downfield. That’s definitely proven by the numbers.

Over the last three years, 54 receivers have caught at least 120 passes. Of that group, Jackson has the highest yards-per-catch average – 17.2 per reception.

It would be a huge loss for the Chargers’ offense if they were to trade him. They don’t seem to have anybody of similar ability to fill that role.
