McNabb, receivers on same page

Posted Jul. 18 at 11:25 PM

While speculation persists over whether there will be another Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens reunion, Washington's current receivers will join McNabb this week for workouts. Sounds pretty positive so far.

"For him to really collectively try to gather the guys that he knows are going to be key components in our offense, and get us all together to work for about a week, is a great thing that he's doing," Devin Thomas tells the Washington Post. "It'll help us all out."

Either Thomas or Santana Moss figures to be Washington's top receiver this year; there might not be much difference between the two. Moss is a possible suspension risk after being linked to a doctor charged with distributing HGH, which would benefit Thomas (and also might impact any possible Owens interest).

Washington plays in possibly the league's best division; it won't be easy for them to step forward as a playoff team. But between their acquisitions of McNabb and Saints' offensive tackle Jammal Brown, the offense should be better.

Maybe good enough to make Thomas, who's saying all the right things thus far, a sleeper at receiver this year.

Let's see if they're still on the same page when McNabb starts skipping 5 yard passes off the turf in front of them.

You have to take the big athletic guy...Devin Thomas. He could be a guy like Miles Austin, who everyone (including this magazine) didn't think too highly of last year, only to breakout to be a huge steal. At best Moss is an average receiver...at best Thomas is a top 15 receiver. The guy has an incredible ceiling.
