Around the NFL
Brett Favre isn't saying whether he'll come back for a 20th NFL season this year. But everything that isn't being said or done sounds a whole lot like last year.
Brad Childress is currently in Mississippi, according to various media reports, including this one picked up on by NFL.com. He might be doing a little fishing, or scouting out a retirement home, but while there he's also paying a visit to the guy that got him a few minutes away from the Super Bowl a year ago.
Childress met with Favre a year ago, of course. Back then, Favre was coming off surgery, and wasn't sure whether he'd return for a 19th season. At one point, in fact, he told the Vikings to forget it.
But come mid-August, there he was, with the team during its exhibition slate, about to embark on one of the best seasons of his career (at age 40).
Little reason to think things won't play out similarly for Favre and the Vikings at age 41.
