Knowshon to be a no-go

Posted Sep. 24 at 03:51 AM

Running back Knowshon Moreno has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Colts after getting injured in practice. Anybody who saw Arian Foster run wild on the Colts knows Indianapolis can give up some yards there, so it's disappointing for those looking forward to starting Moreno.

Of course, one player's (and fantasy owner's) loss is another's gain. Some Broncos running back could put up decent numbers against the Colts (until they start getting blown out, that is), with Moreno sidelined, according to a report in the Denver Post.

The question is who? Correll Buckhalter is one possibility, and the recently acquired Laurence Maroney is another. Personally I went out and grabbed Andre Brown in one of my leagues, because hey, you never know. (He's probably third in terms of likelihood, but he was the one available for me.)

Denver might get clobbered in this game, but even if so, they may have a productive running back. If you've got Moreno, bench him. If you've got Buckhalter, you should probably consider starting him. And picking up Maroney or Brown and waiting and seeing makes sense, too.
