Factoid
The Saints have signed John Carney, and that makes for an old fogey showdown on Sunday. Carney is 46, and John Kasay is 40.
I looked into this briefly, and I believe this will be the 3rd-oldest pair of kickers in NFL history (to face off in a game).
Gary Anderson (45) and Morten Anderson (44) were a combined 89 years old when Tennessee and played in 2004.
Andersen (46) and Carney (42) were a combined 86 when the Falcons and Saints played twice in 2006.
I looked into George Blanda, who played at 48 in the mid-'70s, but couldn't find any games against guys any older than their mid 30s -- Jim Turner, Jim Bakken, Tom Dempsey, Fred Cox.
Blanda's last kick, by the way, was a 41-yard field goal in a 16-10 loss at Pittsburgh at the end of the 1975 season. That was the game with the split tarp and the frozen field -- a damn impressive kick for a kicker of any age, particularly playing with a toe-kick style.

How do you think they will use Carney and Hartley?
