Hiya. I'm all ready to go here, assuming there will eventually be a game tonight ...
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 10:35 AM
hey Justin, much improved in the FC this week...in the 300s overall
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:37 AM
Kevin: 950+ passing yards will do that. And, in turn, a 5.something passing average will knock you down some - so I'm in the 300s, too. Seriously considering buying Philip Rivers and starting all three of Peyton, Rivers, Rodgers at some point.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:40 AM
Interesting point Ian (ANDY'S FRIEND, ACTUALLY. NOT IAN. - Ed.) made earlier today: Randy Moss could play 17 games this year. A little extra juice if you happened to draft him.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 10:41 AM
well, but he had 0 catches last week for New England...so really still 16 games fantasy statistics wise
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:42 AM
I love Tom Jackson; always have. And this is unrelated, but dude is capable of making a single point soooooo slowly that he's ideal for ESPN in this situation. No one on TV is better at filling time. Except maybe Charles Barkley.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:43 AM
Kevin: True. But given that it happened, what better way to make up for the goose egg than with a complete do-over?
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 10:47 AM
how many balls can he catch in the slop, really? Just asking.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:49 AM
For all those looking for a rooting angle tonight, my never-defeated Mississippi Queens trail the St. Augustine Sharks by 18 points but have Dustin Keller going. Standard 1-per-10-yards, 6-per-TD scoring. Keller's totals this year have gone 1-17-21-14, so the comeback is highly improbable but not impossible.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:50 AM
In case that wasn't clear, you're rooting FOR me, not AGAINST.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 10:51 AM
As I said at the end of last night's post...DEAL!!
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 10:52 AM
I won't self-promote my rooting interest tonight...of course, at the risk of jinxing myself.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:53 AM
Kevin: I don't worry about Brett Favre or Randy Moss in the weather. I worry a lot more about the extent to which Moss has been able to digest the playbook, and the extent to which the two of them have been able to feel each other out. But it won't surprise me in the least to see Moss grab 6 for 97 and a TD. In fact, it'll surprise me at least a little if he DOESN'T.
Posted by ANDY RICHARDSON | Oct. 11 at 10:54 AM
Hey, I wrote that trivia question (and even I can't take credit for the Moss part; a friend pointed it out to me). Man, I was already glad I didn't get tickets for this game. And now that I wouldn't have been home until 2 a.m. or so, I'm even moreso.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 10:56 AM
Free Salary Cap...not a good week..one of my higher scoring units was the Detroit DEF. 247 pts total, 25 from DET DEF.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 10:57 AM
Andy: Apologies. Correction made above.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:03 AM
PLAY LIKE A JET, it says in the tunnel there. They might want to specify a season. I mean, PLAY LIKE A JET IN 2007 wouldn't be very good.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:07 AM
NFC standings are starting to look like there may only be one playoff spot available for the Cowboys OR Vikings. Unless DAL rallies to win the East - not remotely out of the question, of course - I see the ATL/NO loser as a very likely Wild Card, so ...
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:15 AM
Hoping not to jinx it, but I'm really looking forward to this one. Among other things, there has never been a player I enjoyed watching more than All Day. That little move where he draws a defender into his body so he can then shove him aside - at 0:13 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6pKIj87CYA - makes me grin like a dummy every time.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:16 AM
Or maybe Moss will complete 6 for 97 to Favre.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:19 AM
Loadholt has to be the best name ever for a tackle, right?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:20 AM
Not an epic opening drive.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:21 AM
Just to warn you, I'm going to celebrate EVERY play Keller makes tonight. Feel free to ignore this, but remember that you're rooting FOR me, not AGAINST.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:23 AM
That youtube video is a low blow...LOL
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:23 AM
Every so often Sanchez still makes an inexcusably terrible throw. Like there, e.g.
Posted by ANDY RICHARDSON | Oct. 11 at 11:23 AM
No worries. Wasn't that a facemask on Peterson's last carry?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:24 AM
Kevin: Especially because your Browns would've won the game if not for that play. Oh, right. Never mind.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:25 AM
Why do you think I wrote LOL.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:27 AM
Kevin: Just looked back at the box score. Brady Quinn passed for 205 yards. Jamal Lewis ran for 57. Seems like much longer ago than Kickoff Weekend 2009, doesn't it?
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:27 AM
I was upset with last week's win vs the Bengals, because I thought the Browns played terrible and played well enough not to lose. I will take the win mind you, but yesterday I had no expectations and they played the team that I predicted to win the NFC South relatively tough with two hobbled QBs. I heard whispers of the Browns picking up a veteran QB to fill in if the news on Wallace's MRI is bad.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:28 AM
Kevin: Which veteran is that? I bet Todd Collins could be had ...
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:30 AM
I don't know...I just heard the words "another veteran QB." I would take Ron Jaworski at this point or have the Browns go back on their promise that Colt McCoy wouldn't see the field this year. I really do not care.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:32 AM
If anyone's reading along but not watching, Minny punted badly after their second possession. Jets driving, down around the MIN 30. Keller about to score.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:33 AM
Kevin: I'm pretty sure Jaws would be better than Trent Dilfer.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:34 AM
At least Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Maybe by default, but he still has a ring.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:36 AM
Kevin: As a former Bucs fan, I say THAT is a lower blow than the A.D. clip.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:38 AM
Drive petered out; Sanchez hasn't tried Keller yet; that's not a coincidence. Jets kick the FG. 3-0.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:39 AM
Sorry Justin...I forgot.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:40 AM
Were you a Bucs fan when they beat the Raiders in the SB?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:43 AM
Kevin: Was indeed. Actually kinda stopped being a fan when I saw the SB video. Gruden is such a moron - just so wholeheartedly enthusiastic about his platitudes - that I found it impossible to root for him. Would have been like rooting for Raheem Morris or something.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:44 AM
So now I root for Chan Gailey. Good God, what is wrong with me?
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:46 AM
Do you listen to Colin Cowherd? He had a very familiar, but interesting take on Gailey, Turner, and Wade Phillips today.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:47 AM
Brutal defense so far tonight. Or is that brutal offense? Or both?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:49 AM
Kevin: I don't listen to the radio, AM or FM, ever. Sports talk annoys me. Politics amuse me but only mildly. And even the stations that play decent music play like three or five songs, max, from each artist.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:53 AM
Does anyone know how that happened, by the way? When did the Ramones become I Wanna Be Sedated and nothing else? And how did Achtung Baby become the rocknroll ideal? Really, is everyone THAT boring?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:55 AM
Long incomplete pass from Sanchez to the vicinity of Santonio Holmes. This game is starting to look very, very sloppy.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 11:57 AM
Has Favre even looked at Shiancoe yet?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 11:58 AM
We're a couple of minutes into the second quarter. Jets facing 3rd & 5 from the MIN 44. Still 3-0.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:00 PM
Post-punt, MIN now facing 3rd & 5 from their own 11.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:05 PM
Lots of penalties both ways. Few successful plays that aren't called back. Not gonna lie; I'm bored.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:07 PM
Another long incompletion from Sanchez to the vicinity of Holmes. I wonder if those worked in practice this week.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:10 PM
Toby Gerhart. What a waste of a draft pick.
Posted by ANDY RICHARDSON | Oct. 11 at 12:16 PM
Remember when Monday night football was awesome? Those were good times.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:18 PM
Jets now driving. Maybe. Let's not hold our breath waiting for a touchdown.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:20 PM
Folk good from 53. 6-0 Jets.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:21 PM
Andy: I think I remember last year being pretty good. Or the year before last, maybe. This year all of prime time has been terrible. We had SD-KC that first Monday; otherwise it's been a slog.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:22 PM
And THAT play - Favre rolling, looking, kinda falling down - sums the game up perfectly.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:22 PM
And a ridiculous facemask to top it off!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:24 PM
Vikes fumble the snap. Jets recover. If it's possible to be bored to death, I may not live to see the second half of this one.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:28 PM
Keller! Finally! But for 8 yards! Still 0 points!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:32 PM
Jets threatening to kick another field goal here, under 2 minutes in the first half.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:33 PM
God Himself is expressing His disappointment in this game. Teams better improve their play in the second half or lightning WILL strike a player down.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:35 PM
Jets have a first down inside the MIN 5. It's raining cats, dogs and cab drivers. :34 left in the half.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:36 PM
1st & goal: Incomplete.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:36 PM
2nd & goal: Sanchez misses a wide-wide-wide-open Cotchery in the middle of the end zone.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:37 PM
3rd & goal: Sanchez throws low and wide of Keller. My week just ended. But not my night, unfortunately.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:38 PM
Folk good from 21 yards. 9-0. We'll go to the half that way unless there's a TD on the return. Odds of that are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1 tonight.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 12:51 PM
for those of you who don't know...that was 1 sextillion to one.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:55 PM
First play from scrimmage in the third quarter: Sanchez sacked. Someone please take the Internet down for the next two hours. The whole thing, just to be sure.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 12:59 PM
I swear this just happened: Favre tried to hand off to Peterson but dropped the ball. Peterson punted it. Revis fielded the punt. Jets' ball.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:05 PM
Jets fail to get anything going. Except - hey, whaddaya know? - Folk hits the FG. 12-0.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:16 PM
I took a series off there. Jets have the ball now. Only came back because Gruden just said a Sanchez pass should've been a "slam-dunk interception." Way to mix sports, Jonny!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:17 PM
And ... punt. Vikes have the ball now. I'm hoping for another home-run fumble.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:19 PM
That was a game-set-match long incompletion.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:21 PM
3rd & 15 converted! Favre to Moss! The single best play of the single worst game ever played!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:22 PM
Note that Jon and Ron have now started insulting this game. It's not just me. I hope I don't sound bitter, but this is some putrid football right here.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:24 PM
Favre zipping the ball a little harder on this drive. Has the ball down to the NYJ 30.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:25 PM
But here comes another 3rd & long.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:26 PM
False start. Now 3rd & 17.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:27 PM
You're kidding me. Favre throws a long TD to Moss on 3rd & 17. The ridiculous just became ridiculously sublimely ridiculous.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:30 PM
Moss uses his left shoulder to steer Cromartie to the inside, then turns his shoulders and lets the ball drop over his RIGHT shoulder in the front corner of the end zone. Announcers are crediting the throw, but Randy MADE that throw as good as it was.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:31 PM
Brad Smith returns the kick 86 yards to the MIN 19. I'm not kidding. We have some juice both ways, suddenly. I'm looking for caffeine.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:32 PM
Found a no-sugar Amp. Tastes awful but gets the job done. Jets peter out and Folk hits the FG. Vikes getting the ball back, down 15-7. I'm the tiniest bit excited to see the fourth quarter.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:33 PM
I thought 3am was your normal bedtime...jeez!!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:35 PM
Decent return from Harvin, then a big corner-turner from Peterson. Vikes down to the NYJ 35 as the third quarter ends.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:36 PM
Kevin: Caffeine is the reason, and 4:00 AM - not 3:00 - is my normal bedtime.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:37 PM
I stand corrected or correction, I am sitting.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:38 PM
A.D. is just a joy to watch. How is he not everyone's favorite player?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:40 PM
Favre tries Moss again but Cromartie has position; Moss pulls him down; offensive interference; 2nd & long.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:40 PM
Now 3rd & 19.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:41 PM
And Favre does it again! Hits Harvin in perfect stride! TD! Vikes going for 2! What the hell is happening here?!
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:41 PM
Couldn't have been Shiancoe right? Well, noooooooooooo!!!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:42 PM
Kevin: Remember, if I don't get mine, you don't get yours.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:42 PM
I guess it took three and a half quarters to get the distraction undistracted.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:43 PM
Fair enough.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:44 PM
2-point try fails but nothing lost. This game is finally, finally OK.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:51 PM
Except for Keller and Shiancoe not helping our causes.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:51 PM
Jets pick up a 3rd & short and now seem to be putting together a minimally competent drive. Even got Keller a second catch that pushes him up to 1/18 of the points I need for a tie! Let's go!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:52 PM
Too good to last. 3rd & 4, Sanchez too high for Keller. Punt coming.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:54 PM
Great punt, fair catch at the MIN 8. Favre down 2, 55 to 60 yards outside of FG range.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:56 PM
Peterson bulls forward to pick up a 3rd-down conversion. 1st & 10 at the MIN 22.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:57 PM
Favre deeeeeeeeeep for Moss, incomplete.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:58 PM
2 & 10 incomplete, too. Big 3rd & 10 coming.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 01:58 PM
I'm not greedy. I just need Shiancoe to get one more catch for 18 yards. It does not even need to be a TD. Just do not want my FC Receiving average to suffer.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 01:59 PM
Favre throws too low for Harvin. Should've picked it up. Punt coming. 7:13 remaining.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:00 PM
Kevin: Assuming the Vikes get the ball back at all, you know they'll be throwing. I'd say you have a pretty good shot at one longish play to Shiancoe.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:02 PM
Jets take over at their 34. Tomlinson gets one yard on first down. Clock ticking.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:02 PM
Sanchez converts on 2nd & 9. Nice throw to Edwards. Vikes' chances could end right here.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:03 PM
New first down loses a yard on a gimmick-around to Brad Smith. But, again, clock ticking. Under 5:30 now.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:04 PM
Sanchez complete to Cotchery, another conversion. Vikes in peril.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:04 PM
Tomlinson breaks one for about 14. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:05 PM
Game. Set. Match. Of course, to quote Jonny.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:05 PM
And that's the game. 1st & 10 at the Vikes' 23, Greene changes pace right into the end zone. Will be 22-13 with the extra point. Oh, well.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:06 PM
4:30 remaining, but I say no way on the comeback.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:07 PM
Kevin: Here comes your Shiancoe play.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:08 PM
Even if the Vikes score, they can't stop the Jets running game.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:10 PM
I will take my Shiancoe play now...1st and goal from the 6...I know, I know.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:13 PM
Ridiculous. Favre to Harvin for another TD, 22-20, still 3:09 remaining. THIS fourth quarter at the back of THOSE first three quarters is just silly. It's like some super-fast-acting PED went in the Gatorade.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:15 PM
2nd & 8. 2:59 remaining.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:16 PM
Sanchez to Holmes, maybe not a good call but it works. 1st & 10. 2:47 remaining, Vikes out of timeouts.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:17 PM
Tomlinson loses one on first down. 2nd & 11.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:18 PM
GOOD GOD! INCOMPLETE ON 2ND & 11 WITH 2:04 REMAINING!
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:18 PM
So Jets can't run an extra play after the 2-minute warning. Someone should be fired over that.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:19 PM
Calm down Tirico, we get it, it was bad clock management.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:19 PM
I agree, but I wouldn't trust any other QB to run the Jets.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:19 PM
Incomplete on 3rd & 11, too. Warning actually comes at 1:56. Favre getting the ball back with the Vikes' season possibly in the balance. Wouldn't want to be the Jets right now.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:22 PM
Incomplete on first down. 2nd & 10 for Vikes. 1:43 remaining.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:22 PM
Ball's at the MIN 16, if you wondered.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:23 PM
Favre plain old misses Harvin. Terrible. 3rd & 10. 1:38.
Posted by Brian Grzybowski | Oct. 11 at 02:23 PM
God, I hope Favre doesn't pull this off. There will be no end to the slurping from the "experts" all week.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:24 PM
Encroachment. 3rd & 5.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:25 PM
And THAT really is the game. Pick-6. Vikes move to 1-3, same as Dallas. If I'm right about ATL and NO both making the playoffs, that's gonna be a race all year for the other Wild Card.
Posted by Brian Grzybowski | Oct. 11 at 02:25 PM
Favre pulls a Favre!!!!!!!!
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:26 PM
I cannot stand receivers who wait for the ball...go get it...ie Owens on Sunday.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:27 PM
I suppose this means the Vikes will now score one more garbage TD. Let's at least have it go to Shiancoe for Kevin, who's hung in here all night waiting for something to happen.
Posted by Chris Metz | Oct. 11 at 02:29 PM
Thoughts on Favre as a differencial play for Challenge? Trying to catch up in yards per pass and passing yards....
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:29 PM
You may think I'm crazy, but in my opinion, that Moss signing makes Minnesota the NFC North division winner. I said that at work when he was signed and I am sticking by it. Mind you, I did pick the Jets to win theirs as well and for them to win tonight.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:29 PM
Total scoring by both teams, by quarter:
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:30 PM
Q1: 3.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:30 PM
Q2: 6.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:30 PM
Q3: 13.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:30 PM
Q4: 27.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:32 PM
Chris: I assume you've been drinking tonight. I don't blame you, but sleep it off before you make any changes.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:32 PM
Huh...they doubled their scoring every quarter.
Posted by Chris Metz | Oct. 11 at 02:32 PM
Vikings are still the best team in that division. They may be the best team in the NFC. They just need to win a few in a row. Winnable games coming up for them. Good signs from this game and teams have come back from 1-3 before.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:32 PM
Kevin: Unless Rodgers' concussion is really, really severe, no way.
Posted by Chris Metz | Oct. 11 at 02:32 PM
Ha ha. I am considering getting Orton and Rivers. Then using Orton every week until he proves I should not.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:35 PM
I believe the absence of a consistent running game for the Pack will hurt them in the long run. Unless, they find themselves someone better than Brandon Jackson. I still think Chicago is not very good and Detroit, well what is there to say.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:36 PM
Chris: I don't see how these Vikes are better than the Packers. The only way the running game becomes a problem in GB is, again, if Rodgers' head is bad. The all-pass-all-the-time thing has worked fine in Indy for the last two years, and the Packers' D is really good.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:36 PM
Kevin: Same comment. Check Indy's rushing rankings for the last two seasons. What's the difference between those Colts and these Packers?
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:38 PM
And, guys, really: Couldn't we have chatted during the first three quarters, when this game was unwatchable and there was NOTHING ELSE TO DO? That's kinda the idea here.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:38 PM
And with that, I'm signing off. Exhausted.
Posted by KEVIN DALLAS | Oct. 11 at 02:39 PM
I'm talking about having someone to go to. Indy has/had running backs they could count on when they needed to run the ball. You said it yourself, Brandon Jackson runs for 71 yards and doesn't score. I wouldn't and couldn't count on that guy.
Posted by JUSTIN ELEFF | Oct. 11 at 02:41 PM
There won't be a live-blog next Sunday night. Phoenix is playing Ithaca. Pretty decent writeup of their last album here, if I say so myself: http://www.johnbernardburke.com/2010/01/from-mess-to-masses.html. Just forgive any dead links and (especially) profanity; this Burke guy has a mind of his own.
