Akers is kicking butt

Another big game for David Akers last night (he’s now at six straight games with over 10 points). He’s on pace to become just the fourth kicker ever to score more than 150 points in a season.

And Akers is just one of the kickers around the league having a big year. At the current scoring pace, three kickers will finish with over 140 points this year, and three others will finish with 134-138.

That will represent 2010 well in comparison to past seasons. The below chart shows the top scoring kickers of the last 20 years (with the 2010 players – in bold – with their projected finishing totals).
