Giants should have an elite running game

Posted Mar. 19 at 05:37 AM

You got to hand it to Tom Coughlin. The guy knows how to put together a solid running game. And he’s not one of those Mike Martz types who forgets to call running plays on Sundays.

Look at the numbers from Coughlin’s last 10 teams (his last six in Jacksonville, and his first four in New York) – and average of 2,005 rushing yards and 17.1 rushing TDs per season. That’s pretty darn good. By the fantasy scoring system of 6 points for TDs and 1 point for every 10 yards, only a handful of teams have been better in the 1997-2007 time period.

Now he’s got a solid offensive line and a nice stable of running backs to work with – Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, Ahmad Bradshaw. Look for very good rushing numbers from the Giants this season.
