Possible blizzard for Eagles game

Posted Dec. 25 at 01:35 PM

There definitely will be weather issues in Philadelphia on Monday night The website weather.com is forecasting a 100 percent chance of snow, with winds of about 20 mph.

That type of weather is bad for the kickers, and it should translate into the Eagles passing less and running more. It could be good for LeSean McCoy. Those with Michael Vick may want to go ahead and use him anyway – much of his production comes from his running anyway.

There are a bunch of other games in the northeastern portion of the country. For all of those games, the weather should be in the low to mid 20s, with winds up to 15 mph. That’s less than ideal weather for passing and kicking, but probably not enough to gut a board for the week.

For the Patriots, note that they have downgraded Aaron Hernandez to out. This has me a little more interested in Rob Gronkowski.

Vick or Manning now?

Ian: I was going to play M. Lewis at TE in a salary cap league. Windy conditions expected in JAX which could limit passing game. Do you like Gronko enough to play him over Lewis? It would save me some $ to use at other positions. Also, does Jennings get a bump in these conditions. Reports this morning are that Jones-Drew will not play. Thanks much.

One more question - would you start Webb (assuming Favre out) over Nicks at WR? Thanks for your help.

From the weather channel Cinc. 17mph, Buffalo 18mph, Jax. 18mph, Clev. 23mph, Miami 22mph, Phila 22mph (my Area, and they are forecasting 50mph gusts. They were talking about canceling the game or moving the time foreward), Tampa 25mph. Chicago, GB, KC, Denver, Oakland have light winds.

David, for what it is worth, I wouldn't play web. I had him in my line up for a championship game, but droped him. He will not be able to pass on the Eagles. And the Eagles will jam the box and run blitz him the entire game. The Eagles are erratic when it comes to stoping the run. Some games they are great, some game they are terrible. They will be great in this game. Unless your other options are terrible, use them.

Gronkowski would move into the top 10, eh? I mean, if you mesh Gronko and Hernandez stats that would be the #1 TE in the league.

Eagles-Vikes postponed til Tuesday @ 8

Re Webb - a 'real' WR that goes off scores 10 -15 points, and most don't any given week - a mediocre QB effort is usually in that neighborhood - and Webb had around 12 points in limited minutes against a decent Bears defense last week. My worry is another Favre surprise in a game delayed til Tuesday.

I would move Gronkowski up a little, but I don't see him hauling in all of the Hernandez production
