Factoid
As I was tabulating the overall numbers for tight ends (part of scoring that position for the Experts Poll), I noticed that Aaron Hernandez was by far the best tight end at running the ball. In the 2010 season, he was more productive on running plays than all other tight ends in the league combined.
The Patriots used Hernandez on three running plays, and he gained 18, 16 and 13 yards on those plays. The rest of the tight ends in the league carried the ball 10 times, and none of them had a run over 10 yards.
So overall, Hernandez finished with more rushing yards (47) than all of the league’s other tight ends (29).
