Falcons / statistical oddities

Posted Apr. 04 at 11:57 AM

Actually, a Double Factoid, as a couple of Ripley’s-Believe-It-Or-Not type numbers jump out on the Atlanta Falcons.

Roddy White last season had more catches of 20-plus yards (19) than Randy Moss (18). That’s particularly impressive, considering one guy was working with Tom Brady, while the other was catching passes from Joey Harrington, Chris Redman and Byron Leftwich.

Michael Turner, despite not playing much, is one of two running backs who’s had a run of 70-plus yards three years in a row. (Fred Taylor is the other.) If you instead lower the ball to 65 yards, there are only four guys who’ve had 65-plus yard runs two years in a row – Turner, Taylor, Chester Taylor, and the other Falcons tailback, Jerious Norwood.
