There are lots of good tight ends out there. But that’s the problem: with some many solid options, it’s hard to justify taking one in the first four rounds of a draft (since teams in most fantasy leagues start just one).
Below is a chart showing the most productive tight ends from 2010 (when the stats are adjusted to account for games missed).
Lots of nobodies and lesser names in there. Gronkowski, Hernandez were rookies. Tamme was a deep reserve at the start of the year. And many of names were hardly coveted in drafts – Lewis, Heap, Pettigrew.
