Around the NFL
Tiki Barber somewhat shockingly retired following the 2006 season, one of the best of his career. Arguably more shocking is today's news, that Barber is planning to return the NFL.
Barber has officially filed papers with the NFL to come out of retirement, his agent tells ESPN. It may have seemed that he retired young considering how well he played his final two seasons, but in fact he was 31 at the time -- and is 36 years old now.
It seems unlikely that there will be a ton of interest in Barber, certainly not as a potential lead back anywhere, but maybe someone will give him a shot in training camp as a third-down type. He's got fresh legs, at least, from doing little more than carrying a microphone into Meadowlands locker rooms and other NFL venues the last few years.
But fantasy impact? I'm going to say no.
