Factoid
Since the Rams signed Josh Brown to a free agent contract, he has scored a league-high 45 percent of their points – 310 out of 696. But that’s not necessarily a good thing.
Brown has excellent range and benefits from kicking in a dome, but the Rams have settled for field goals far too often. Too few of their drives have resulted in touchdowns, which is why they keep losing games.
In the last three years, notice, only six other teams have scored over 40 percent of their points on field goals. The Rams have done it three years in row. Note that all of those teams finished with losing records. In today’s NFL, you need to close out drives with touchdowns.
