Factoid
I have seen Devin Hester’s name go by quite a few times in the last week. Along with Josh Cribbs, he’s become a poster child for complaints against the new kickoff rules, which is kind of odd, consider Hester has hardly returned kickoffs the last two years (he hasn’t scored on a kickoff return since 2007) and Cribbs comes off an injury-plagued and ineffective season – the Browns ranked last in kickoff returns.
Nevertheless, Hester has been in the news. And looking at the receiving stats from last year, I notice he managed to go through all of last year without a catch of 40 yards. With Jay Cutler’s arm strength and Hester’s speed and after-the-catch ability, that’s remarkable.
