Akers bags acres of points

Posted Jul. 02 at 04:35 AM

Kickers keep getting better and better, and they also keep scoring more points. However you slice the numbers, the players of today tend to come to the top at this position.

Check out the numbers below. It shows the best three-year totals for kickers. This is all-time – highest-scoring kickers ever.

David Akers, who’s scored 139 points or more three straight years, is the No. 1 guy on the list. He’s been incredible.

Also note, however, that of the 18 guys on this list (the kickers who have scored 380 points in a three-year run), 10 of them are guys who’ve played in the last three years. That is, one of the three years in their run has been either 2008, 2009 or 2010.
