Factoid
The State of Pennsylvania had a couple of big-play wide receivers last year. Both DeSean Jackson and Mike Wallace put up huge numbers, making lots of long catches downfield.
Both of these receivers averaged over 20 yards per catch. That’s unusual, particularly for a 1,000-yard receiver.
See that chart below, which shows all receivers who’ve averaged over 20 yards per catch on a 1,000-yard season since the league went to the 16-game schedule in 1978. Only three have done it in the last 20 years – Michael Haynes (Atlanta) in 1991, Eric Moulds (Buffalo) in 1998 and Ashley Lelie (Denver) in 2004.
