GOLDEN AGE OF RUNNING BACKS
The NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978. Since that time, 17 of the 20 2,000 total yard seasons by running backs have come in the last 10 years. And 10 of the top 16 have come in the last five years. So for all the talk about teams going to running-back-by-committee approaches, there still seems to be room for franchise running backs to do their thing.
